Vajrayogini, ‘Diamond Female Yogi’
The Queen of Dakinis, shown to drink blood which represents the ability to transmute and transform negative actions into positive: anger into clarity, ignorance into wisdom.
She is a Highest Yoga Tantra Yidam, and her practice includes methods for preventing ordinary death, intermediate state and rebirth, and for transforming all mundane daily experiences into higher spiritual paths.
She wears skulls because she dances with death and transformation as naturally as the crone, the goddess embracing the power of the sacred feminine.
Bhuvaneshwari, Sovereign Queen of the Universe
In Hinduism, Bhuvaneswari is the fourth avatar of the ten Mahavidya goddesses and an aspect of Devi or Durga as elements of the physical cosmos, in giving shape to the creation of the World.
The name Bhuvaneswari is a derived from the words Bhuvana Iswari, meaning “Goddess of the Worlds”, where the worlds are the tri-bhuvana or three regions of bhuḥ (earth), bhuvaḥ (atmosphere) and svaḥ (heavens).
In Hinduism, it is believed that Parvati is Saguna Rupa of Goddess Bhuvaneswari. Her consort is Shiva.
Bhuvaneshwari is seen as the sovereign Queen of the Universe or the Queen or ruler of the Universe. She is the Divine Mother serving as the Queen of all the worlds.
The entire Universe is her body and all beings are ornaments on her infinite being. She carries all the worlds as a flowering of her own Self-nature. She is thus, related to Sundari and to Rajarajeshwari, the supreme Lady of the Universe. She is also known as Adi Shakti or Durga i.e. one of the earliest forms of Shakti. She is capable of molding situations according to her wish. It is considered that even the navagrahas and Trimurti cannot hold her back from her myriad pursuits.
A powerful temple of Bhuvaneshwari Amma is situated in Choorakkodu, Adoor, near Vellakulangara.
One more devi Temple in Maharashtra, Shri shetra Audumber at Sangli district.
In North America, Devi Bhuvaneshwari is worshipped at Parashakthi Temple in Pontiac, Michigan. Here the Goddess Vigraha is made with panchaloha – five auspicious metals with and energized by Dr. G Krishna Kumar using Yanthra Prana pratheeshta in November 2005.
Individual Soul Nature-ParaShakti
Our individual soul is the immortal and spiritual body of light that animates life and reincarnates endless times until all necessary lessons are learned and resolved and its essential unity with God is realized within.
Our soul emanates from the essence of God Siva’s e creation, the source of all our higher functions, including knowledge, will and love.
Our soul is neither male nor female. It is that which never dies, even when its four outer sheaths—physical, pranic, instinctive and mental—change form and perish as they naturally do.
The physical body is the annamaya kosa. The pranic sheath of vitality is the pranamaya kosa. The instinctive-intellectual sheath is the manomaya kosa. The mental, or cognitive, sheath is the vijnanamaya kosa. The in most soul body is the blissful, ever-giving-wisdom anandamaya kosa.
Parasakti is the soul’s superconscious mind – God Siva’s mind. Parasiva is the souls’ in most core. We are not the physical body, mind or emotions. We are the immortal soul, atman.
Our true existence is anandamaya kosa and its essence, Parasakti and Parasiva. The Vedas expostulate, “The soul is born and unfolds in a body, with dreams and desires and the food of life. And then it is reborn in new bodies, in accordance with its former works. The quality of the soul determines its future body; earthly or airy, heavy or light.”
SHAKTI- POWER OF PEACE
Shakti is the Goddess or cosmic feminine force and is perceived as Ultimate Power.
Whereas the God or cosmic masculine force is worshiped as SHIVA, meaning peace, SHAKTI is the power of peace.
It is not power born of violence or aggression. It is power born in passivity, in silence of mind, the energy which comes forth from the void, like life that comes forth from the womb.
SHAKTI is not power which is asserted against something, but a power that enlivens everything from within.
Adi means Primordial and Shakti means Power.
So Adi Shakti means Primordial Power of God.
At the beginning of time only these Two existed: God and His Shakti.
God is the Observer and She is the embodiment of His Will, of His Dreams, Of His Emotions, of His Feelings and Plans.
So She started to create and with Her endless love She has created the whole universe and universes which are nothing else but a beautiful cloak which Adi Shakti has made for God to wrap Him with it and to make Him visible.
Samadhi- The Height of Divine Consciousness
Samadhi or spiritual ecstasy; state of God-union experienced as the ultimate goal of meditation, is a joyous experience, a splendid light in which you welcome the countless worlds floating in a vast array of joy and bliss.
Banish the spiritual ignorance that makes you think this mortal life is real. Have these beautiful experiences for yourself in eternal samadhi, in God. Auroras of light, sky lit of eternal bliss will be opened to you.
When through Samadhi, one can awaken from the delusions of maya, he beholds his body, the separately existing images of other human beings, and all material objects to be streaming unceasingly from one Source: the consciousness of God.
The Divine Mother is the Kundalini (“coiled up” power) sleeping in us; without worshiping Her we can never know ourselves. All-merciful, all-powerful, omnipresent are attributes of Divine Mother.
She is the sum total of the energy in the Universe. Every manifestation of power in the Universe is “Mother”. She is Life, She is Intelligence, She is Love. She is in the Universe yet separate from it.
She is a person and can be seen and known (as Shri Ramakrishna saw and knew Her). Established in the idea of Mother, we can do anything. She quickly answers prayer.
You think that you are the body, but you are not. Your consciousness is centered in the body, but when you are asleep, your consciousness is beyond it. Your feelings are mostly concentrated on the welfare of your little body, but you can expand your love to take in the kingdom of the Infinite. Since we are all limited by ego or body consciousness, we must expand our love in order to reclaim our kingdom of infinite consciousness.
Meditation is a sure way to prove that you are not the body, but a spirit-child of God. We are waves of the Ocean, waves of Life. When the body dies, we merge in the Ocean of Spirit, and then come out again as a wave in the next life.
You must give up some of your useless pursuits and idle thoughts to make time for God. The world takes out of you all it can, and keeps you engaged with many worthless habits and unproductive activities.
Use your precious gift of reason and try to find God. You need not go into the forest where other, though different, temptations will assail you and perhaps conquer you. Your duty is in the world where your karma (action) has placed you to work out your salvation by serving your fellow men. You find God in the solitude of your own room when, in the early morning hours and at night, before sleeping, you compose yourself for contemplation and meditation on the great divine principle that created you.
The body did not exist before birth, nor will it exist after death.
It is born for a moment, its qualities are momentary,
and it is inherently changing.
It is not a single thing, but inert,
and should be viewed like an earthen pot.
How could it be one’s true self,
which is the observer of changing phenomena?

Buddha’s Meditation Wisdom
Gautam Buddha, the pioneer of all great meditative techniques in the world, defines meditation in one word. Somebody asked him once, ’Lord, what is meditation? What is it all about?’
To this, Gautam Buddha replied with a single word, HALT!
That was his definition of meditation. He said, ’If it halts, it is meditation.’ The essence of this is: ’The mad mind does not halt. If it halts, it is meditation.’
Meditation is a state of thoughtless awareness.
Meditation is a state of non-emotional, non-sentimental, non-thinking awareness. When you are simply awakened, alert and attentive, then you are just pure awareness.
God Consciousness in the Now
It is nothing short of fascinating as to how from a mere magnificent nebulae, the sun, moon, and stars are produced; then they dissolve and go back to nebulae.
The same is unfolding everywhere!
The plant takes material from the earth, dissolves, and gives it back. Every form in this world is taken out of surrounding atoms and goes back to these atoms. It cannot be that the same law acts differently in different places. Law is uniform. Nothing is more certain than that. If this is the law of nature, it also applies to thought.
Thought will dissolve and go back to its origin. Whether we will it or not, we shall have to return to our origin which is called God or Absolute. We all came from God, and we are all bound to go back to God. Here in lies the peace of God!
Awakening Kundalini with Mantra Shakti
Sanskrit, is not only the world’s ancient language but was thought to have been the “perfect” language as well, a language of the heart.
Each sound uttered in Sanskrit was meant to affect the energy vibrating through the body. Each word was thought to be sacred. By chanting Sanskrit, we have an opportunity to feel these vibrations. For the layman, the mantras can be difficult to understand. But, if one listens to it with attention, it instils a sense of calm and peace.
Pratyakshaanumanaagamahpramanani – Sutra I.7
“Correct perception arises from direct observation, inference and the words of the wise.”
The vibrations and sounds involved in a Mantra are significant as they are known to generate a mystic power in the individual who is listening to it.
The reverberations of the sound awaken the Kundalini (spiritual life force) and stimulate charkas (energy centers).
Rishi’s selected the words of the mantras and arranged them so that they not only convey meaning but also create specific power of righteous wisdom through their utterance.
These ancient chants contain powerful healing and transformational energies through their inherent power, known as “Mantra Shakti”.
Methods to Balance & Strengthen Root Chakra
Your root chakra might need balancing, too, if you feel controlling or quick to anger—among other things—or if you feel a lack of confidence and insufficient drive to achieve simple life goals. When your root chakra is balanced, you have energy and self-confidence overcoming arrogance or fear, and you feel calm, centered and ready to welcome life. Let us examine the following ways of balancing your root chakra.
Focus on red. Envisioning the colour red glowing brightly at the base of the spine, where this chakra is located, is the beginning of root chakra cleansing and balancing. Start with the simple meditation of imaging a bright red light at the base of your tailbone. Picture this red light extending down your legs and feet, grounding you to the earth.
Dance. Doesn’t matter if you are no pro at it, close the door and move your body. This is one of the best ways to balance this chakra. Play music and sing along, as singing cleanses your throat chakra for an added bonus.
Practice Yoga. Many yoga postures are designed to cleanse this chakra, especially the tree pose. You can use your ‘seeing red’ visualization as you firmly plant your entire left foot onto your mat and bring your right foot up into tree pose. Keep your hip points squarely ahead and your toes tucked in as you place your foot anywhere on your leg besides your knee. Be creative and make your tree pose your own. Place your right leg into half lotus or engage your core and reach your arms overhead, keeping the base of your neck soft and your elbows straight as you rotate the pinky side of your hands in to engage your triceps. Most importantly, feel supported and connected to the earth as you hold your tree pose for 5 to 8 breaths before switching sides.
Shower. This is such a wonderful root chakra cleanser. We are physical beings in addition to being intelligent, thoughtful human beings. Embrace and love your physicality by being completely present as you bathe. Mindfully moving is a powerful form of meditation.
Power walk. Take this idea of mindfully moving on your walk with you. Concentrate on your foot leaving the ground and connecting to the earth again with each step. You’ll give your mind a break and cleanse your root chakra simultaneously.
Indulge in a pedicure. “You can always tell how well a person takes care of themselves by how they take care of their feet.” This might be a little bit of an exaggeration, but loving your feet and taking the time to pamper your physical body are great ways to also care for your root chakra energy.
Chakras are both complex and fascinating. The root chakra is often thought of as providing energy to other chakras, so if it’s blocked or unbalanced, your other chakras likely are as well. Just like a building, making sure that your chakras have a firm foundation—with a balanced root chakra—is crucial to having a healthy, open chakra system. Begin to feel confident, stable and physically alive as you tap into your own renewable energy through a balanced root chakra.
Chakras- An Insight
Numerous energy abodes reside in our body, tempering, controlling, pushing, transmitting and receiving energy from the inside to the outside. We have seven key energy centers within us – large ones, governing particular parts of our physical form and various emotional and spiritual attributes alongside them – known as the chakras. Chakras are powerful, pulsing centers of energy which run in a straight line through the center of our body.
Each chakra is responsible for providing our bodies with the energy it requires in order to function happily and healthily, but also to ensure that our emotional lives are running in a positive direction.
The root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras, when open and spinning as they should, allow us to live happy, confident and liberated lives. They allow us to work, nurture, express ourselves and love one another, as well as feeling loved, special and unique.
As such, it is vitally important not just for our physical health, but for our all-round, holistic health, to ensure that our chakras are well looked after and kept open and unblocked.
Kundalini, Chakras, and Vrittis
All energy is lodged in this first chakra, the house of the Shakti and there are four fundamental vrittis, or human desires associated with this chakra which are-
Dharma
Artha
Kama
Moksha
The first chakra is not the “lowest” chakra, it is actually the seat of our spiritual longing for both liberation and Dharmic action. According to Tantra, we are meant to quench our thirst for spirituality, for dharma and for joy, these are our natural state.
“There is no fulfillment without the body. Hence obtaining the wealth of the body, engage thyself in works of merit.” –Kularnava Tantra
Certain vrittis are more psychologically challenging than the four primary ones located in the Muladhara chakra. But there are also positive ones, including hope, effort, discernment, and perhaps the most important of all, the love vritti located in the heart chakra.
The human capability for awakening spiritual knowledge is the famous para vritti located in the ajina, or eyebrow chakra.
The Tantric science of kundalini, chakras, and vrittis—and how these esoteric, inner expressions are awakened, balanced and alchemically tuned by hatha yoga and meditation is complex. But the heart of this science is reflected in both the coiled labyrinth of the earth and the coiled kundalini of the body.
Our spiritual practice, our yoga, helps us uncoil and liberate the kundalini labyrinth and thereby free us from its containment in the earth chamber of the first chakra.
“The rush of bliss that ensues upon the meeting of the Pair, the Supreme Shakti and the Self (Shiva) above, is the real Congress. All else is mere copulation.” –Kularnava Tantra
Shakti and Shiva Energies
Kundalini is Shakti energy whereas, Amrit is Shiva’s.
Kundalini develops from all three prana, tejas and ojas – but primarily tejas. As the inner fire, it is the heightened energy of tejas carrying the awakened pranic force and sustained by a higher ojas. Kundalini as subtle fire is a form of lightning or electrical force on an inner level.
Kundalini as tejas is the higher feminine energy or yoga shakti, the power of yoga, necessary to catalyze all higher evolutionary potentials within us. Opposite to kundalini is the amrit or nectar that descends from the crown chakra and feeds the kundalini in her upward ascent. This is the purified ojas energy in the subtle body which has been extracted and distilled through spiritual practice. Ojas is the higher masculine or Shiva energy which, through surrender, care and protection, falls in a descent of grace. While some people experience the ascending fire, others experience more fully the descending nectar.
The union of tejas (kundalini) and ojas (amrit) creates the highest prana, which is the immortal life energy that the kundalini carries the way a mother carries her child. This alone has the power to create the higher samadhis necessary to dissolve the deep-seated conditionings in our consciousness that cause our attachment to the cycle of birth and death. This immortal prana is the divine child or child of immortality and derives from the higher tejas and ojas energies that it carries.
This higher prana is the power or shakti of our higher intelligence (buddhi).
Without such a deep energy in the mind, whatever meditation we do and whatever insight we gain, we will be unable to hold or consolidate it.
Power of Reciting Devi Kavacham
This is an essential recitation text for aspirants pursuing the Shakti path or worship of the Divine Mother, as it basically provides a field of protection around you.
Kavacham means armour and there are numerous well known kavachas to recite. Its purpose essentially is to free you from evil tendencies, so it’s a sort of functional instruction manual on psychic protection, rather than a tender love poem of praise.
Our modern lives are often surprisingly entwined with darkness, with astral entities that feed off energy which can latch on to us like monstrous, but hidden parasites, drawing away our “Virya”, our subtle but essential brightness that is so essential to spiritual success.
The Devi Kavacham is a no-nonsense way to cleanse and guard oneself. Evil entities cannot penetrate it.
Our mundane earthly plane of existence is influenced by astral worlds, as clearly laid out in the Shastras, the sacred texts and recorded memories of the Sanatan Dharma.
If you have problems with compulsions of any kind, reciting a kavacham every day, or at least before you sleep is prudent and essential.
The kavacham is also an excellent way to tackle addictions. It deflects and destroys curses, too. But keep in mind that nothing happens overnight. You need patience.
The Devi in the form of Durga, Camunda, Kali, Bhairavi, is wrathful and warrior-like. This is how she does battle – through the Kavach.
You will find that things disappear from your ordinary mind, when you recite this kavach, which have held you back maybe all your adult life. It is a marvellous tonic, and it only takes 15 minutes maximum!
You 95% of our subconscious minds runs our entire life.
We are who we think we are. Because we don’t exist from our own side, but are merely a projection of mind — the object of a thought, a notion– with training we can change into whatever we want to be.
However, this will only happen if we first stop giving into our own and others’ superficial and generally wildly inaccurate facts about us.
Who is one to judge anyway?
If we understand that we all suffer from delusions based on self-grasping ignorance, and that the world is a reflection of our own minds, we can understand that we are all currently in our own worlds. When people look at us in a certain way, what are they really looking at is a good point to ponder over. A mirror.
We need to come to know our own minds and capabilities and faults, and believe in our own potential to cleanse our perceptions and change completely. Begin today, any time is good as new to start afresh.
Hope always wraps itself as a gift to us in the form of tomorrow! Start living your best life today. Now is the time. Now is the hour.
Ganesha Rahasya
Our world is nothing but a collection of molecules. This is called ‘Gana’ (collective form). Our body is a ‘Gana’. It is made up of flesh, blood and bone marrow. So, the Lord of all ‘Ganas’ is ‘Ganesha’.
Ganesha is referred to as ‘Achintya’, ‘Avyakta’ and ‘Ananta’. He is beyond thought, beyond expression, and is eternal. This one-consciousness and one supreme power is depicted in the form of an elephant as an elephant is regal and fearless.
It destroys any obstacle in its path. An elephant is a symbol of authority, endurance, strength and courage. We can also strive to imbibe all these qualities into our consciousness.
The elephant’s long trunk symbolizes that true enlightenment is a good balance between ‘knowledge’ and its implementation (in action).
Ganesha has only one tooth that stands for ‘one consciousness’.
Tantra Yoga- Orgasmic, Not Sexual
Tantra means adherence to the doctrines or principles of the tantras, involving mantras, meditation, yoga, and ritual.
The word “tantra” literally means a technique or a technology. It is an inner technology. In the present understanding in society, the word “tantra” refers to extreme unorthodox or socially unacceptable methods.
It is a limb of yoga called tantra yoga.
Tantra is not about unconstrained sexuality, as assumed by majority of people who are unaware. Sexuality is a fundamental instinct instilled in our bodies to ensure the species perpetuates itself. This is a basic requirement. Simultaneously, one must know the limitations beyond which it will not carry us.
The simple principle of tantra yoga is, whatever can bring you down can also uplift you. The ways in which a man usually sinks in his life are through food, alcoholic drink and sexuality. Tantra yoga uses the same three vehicles to rise up. Unlike sexuality, tantra is about enhancing our energies to the fountain-head of the uppermost dimension of the energy system, so that one’s energies spill from the top.
Of the different energy manifestations in the body, the 114 chakras – spilling from the top three is considered the highest. If you have to build up to this, every basic instinct, including the sexual instinct, emotions, intellect and survival process must be used to build and hype the energy system. The intention is to deploy all instincts for which a certain amount of energy is dedicated in the body. If one goes into an actual sexual act, the build-up and the purpose of it will be lost.
This practice needs extreme discipline, a kind of discipline which is not possible for most people to even attempt.
